Dump It Bucket is a private, offline worry journal designed to help users unload stress and let worries fade away naturally. This section outlines our privacy practices for Dump It Bucket.

2.1 Our Privacy Commitment

Dump It Bucket is built on a foundation of complete privacy. Unlike most apps, we believe your worries are yours alone—not data to be collected, analyzed, or monetized.

What this means:

  • No account creation required
  • No servers, no cloud sync
  • No data collection of any kind
  • No internet connection required
  • Everything stays on your device

2.2 Information We Collect

None.

Dump It Bucket collects zero personal information. We have no servers, no databases, and no way to access your data. All entries, buckets, and settings are stored exclusively on your device using iOS’s local storage (SwiftData).

2.3 How We Use Your Information

We don’t use your information because we never have access to it. All data processing happens entirely on your device:

  • Entries: Stored locally on your device only
  • Buckets: Stored locally on your device only
  • Expiration settings: Stored locally on your device only
  • Archived entries: Stored locally on your device only

No data ever leaves your device. No data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2.4 Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We share nothing because we collect nothing.

  • We do NOT use analytics services
  • We do NOT use crash reporting tools
  • We do NOT integrate with social media
  • We do NOT use cloud services
  • We do NOT collect device identifiers

Dump It Bucket has no third-party integrations of any kind.

2.5 Data Security

Your data is protected by:

  • Local storage only: All data stays on your device using iOS’s secure SwiftData framework
  • iOS security: Protected by your device’s passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
  • App sandboxing: iOS keeps Dump It Bucket’s data isolated from other apps
  • No transmission: Since data never leaves your device, it cannot be intercepted

Your responsibility: Your data is as secure as your device. We recommend:

  • Using a strong device passcode
  • Enabling Face ID or Touch ID
  • Keeping your iOS updated
  • Not jailbreaking your device

2.6 Data Backup & Sync

iCloud Backup (Optional)

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, iOS may automatically back up Dump It Bucket’s data to your personal iCloud account. This is handled entirely by Apple, not by us.

  • We do not control iCloud backups
  • We cannot access your iCloud data
  • Backups are encrypted and tied to your Apple ID
  • You can disable app data backup in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups

If you restore your device from an iCloud backup, your Dump It Bucket entries will be restored.

2.7 Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • To delete specific entries: Swipe to delete or wait for automatic expiration
  • To delete all data: Delete the Dump It Bucket app from your device
  • To delete backups: Manage your iCloud backups through iOS Settings

When you delete the app, all local data is permanently removed from your device. If you have iCloud backups, you may need to delete those separately through your iCloud settings.

2.8 Children’s Privacy

Dump It Bucket does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data, we are compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Parents and guardians should be aware that the app stores data locally on the device, and they should supervise their child’s device usage accordingly.

  • We cannot provide testimony about user activity (we have no records)
  • We cannot recover lost or deleted data (we have no backups)

Your data exists only on your device. If you lose your device or delete the app, your data is gone permanently.
